David retired from factory work on February 1st, 2003. After 31 years of service, the last nineteen of which he served on the Health and Wellness Committee, always looking for ways to keep employees healthy and more productive.

A runner since age 25, he used to compete in races and even ran the Boston Marathon in 1983. Needless to say, it's always been a passion of his to stay fit and healthy. He has always looked at life in a positive and healthy way. The only way! As a runner, he always looked for ways to become faster. His muscles were always tight and massage helped to keep them stretched and in great shape. The biggest benefit however, was relaxing the upper body to enabling him to run more efficiently, more relaxed and better form!

Several years before his retirement, he decided that after receiving all the fruits of massage and knowing what a good massage was, becoming a Massage Therapist was a perfect match for him after retirement. David graduated from the Blanchard Valley Academy of Massage Therapy in 2002 and has been licensed and practicing since January 2003.

Besides the intense schooling to become a Licensed Massage Therapist, he has attended the following continuing educational courses: Sports Therapy Massage, Hydrotherapy Treatments, Reflexology, Infant and Pregnancy Massage, Chair Massage, Muscle Release Technique by Michael Young, Myopractic Deep Muscle Therapy & Posture Balancing by The Myopractic® Institute,

David has completed 140 hours of Lymph Drainage Therapy by The Upledger Institute, Inc.®. He has passed the certification test to become Certified in Lymphedema. With this knowledge on the lymph system he is able to work on clients with an incomplete lymph system or someone that has an increased fluids or edema in their body.

David has also finished the 14-day course (eleven levels) and passed the National test to become a National Certified Master Medical Massage Therapist taught by The Medical Massage Office & Associates. This certification has helped prepare David to work along with other medical professionals to take care of a wider range of clients and doctor's patients. It has also enabled the Wellness Center to work with insurance companies to include Massage Treatments in the medical/Insurance aspect of the business. It is his goal to earn a place in the medical community in Northwest Ohio, and work together with local practitioners to create greater out-comes of well-being in the health field.

One of David's goals is to be selected by the Olympic Committee to be one of the massage therapists for the Olympics in Beijing, China in 2008. Massage is a passion in his life! Nevertheless, the drive has come from the feelings received from helping others to have a healthier life. This was the driving force behind his decision to open the Wellness Center for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.

Just do it for the health of it! Get a massage today!
